One way to have a healthier and greener plumbing system is to install a water filtration system around the house. The filtration system will ensure that any microorganisms, particulates, or chemicals will not be present in your water.  It will also help to extend the life of your hot water heater, and keep the quality of your water consistent.

Another way to go green is to install low-flow showers and faucets. These low-flow systems have been known to reduce water usage in a home by as much as 60%. Using less water is great for the environment and your utility costs.

A low-flush toilet can use up to 5 times less than an average one. There are also many energy-efficient appliances that can replace your dishwashers and washing machines. When combined these systems save lots of money.

Addison Green has truly embraced the name, “Green Plumbing” and has learned how to cut the utility costs in a home by installing efficient systems that are not just good for the environment, but for the wallet as well.

3 Small Mistakes People Make Trying to Lose Fat

The exercise and diet will help you achieve the goal of losing weight, but why does it not always work? There is so much that goes into the human anatomy, and a couple of seemingly small lifestyle habits can lead your weight-loss mission off course. Take a look at these 3 mistakes that people make when trying to lose weight.

  1. Undereating: There is much more to losing weight than simply eating less. Especially when exercise is involved, it can be very unhealthy to eat less throughout the day, as this method of starving has been known to cause a reaction in the body that holds onto fat. Instead, focus less on the amount of foods that you eat, and more on the type of foods that you eat.
  2. Overeating Carbs at Night: Carbohydrates are a necessary part of your nutrition, as it provides energy for you to live and work out during the day. However, eating these carbs later in the day or before you go to bed can cause that energy to go unspent. When meals with carbs, especially sugars, are eaten before your body goes to bed, they become wasted fuel, and instead becomes stored fat overnight. Become more active during the day, and if not exercise, eat carbohydrates during the beginning and middle of your day, not the end.
  3. No Carbs: Another mistake people make when trying to burn fat is by completely cutting out carbs from your diet. While the Atkin Diet will help you optimize how many carbs your body uses through this process, it is not recommended that you try and completely cut out carbs. “Not only will you run out of energy and feel fatigued throughout the day,” Addison Green, owner of a personal fitness company, “but you will also be making temporary gains, and most of it will be a combination of fat and muscle.” Instead, find out how many carbs your body should take each day through an Atkins Diet, or your own observations.

Motivational Speaking – Creating a Movement

Several objectives can be accomplished with the art of motivational speaking. The power to use charisma to the advantage of a crowd can lend several benefits to the speaker. This can grow an idea, convert people to believe certain philosophies, or even sell products and services to people. One of the most fulfilling ways to use motivational speaking is to create a following of people that take inspiration out of the ideas being spoken about. This creates a movement, a community of people tethered together under a new idea.

This motivation serves the purpose of all three benefits, as creating this movement grows an idea in the audience about whatever topic the speaker is talking about, and it also converts people to commit to a specific idea. Certain movements can also lead to products and services to assist in the movement, enabling the motivational speaker to sell to the audience. This community is driven by a goal that everyone in the crowd is seeking. Movements that are engineered correctly can be powerful, and done in the right moral light, it can change the world.

Addison Green uses his motivational speaking powers to do just that. As the owner of his own personal fitness club, he has an extreme passion for offering people the ability to change their lives and live a healthy lifestyle. Once an obese individual, he shares his pains through his speeches, and offers products and memberships to his fitness club that allow this movement to work towards one purpose: a healthier future. This type of movement created a group of people committed to bettering their lives with healthier choices, and for them, a changed world.

Tiger Stadium

Since 1895, Detroit was home to the Tiger Stadium. Though, it was never always known as this name. When it was first built by George Vanderbeck it was instead named Bennett Park. Since then, it has had one other name, until it was finally dubbed Tiger Stadium. As with any old ballpark, it has seen its fair share of wear and tear and it has gone through many makeovers in its time. In 1911 when Frank Navin took ownership, he commissioned for a more modern look, one of steel and concrete to be done. After this, the park was named Navin Field. It wasn’t until later when it was renamed to be Tiger Stadium.

When the last Tigers game was held in 1999, Tiger Stadium would be no more. With construction on a new ballpark, Comerica Park, already begun, this field would no longer be of any use to the Tigers. While many people tried to save the stadium, there was no hope for its past, the future would bring demolition. In 2009, the last part of the actual stadium fell to the ground. Now, with just the grassy field left, they need someone to care of it.

Addison Green is one of the self-appointed members of the Navin Field Grounds Crew. He spends most summer afternoons at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull, helping to mow the lawn, rebuilds the pitcher’s mound, pull weeds from the infield grass, and pick up trash. And he loves every minute of it. He loves being able to keep the history of Tiger Stadium alive for the city of Detroit.
